What it costs
Every price on this page is the price the platform charges — read from the same place the platform reads it. There is no page behind this one.
Leagues and clubs
A league contract covers the organisation, not a volunteer's card. It includes a number of coach seats, it is invoiced against a purchase order, and it survives the coach who set it up moving on. A single club buys the same contract; the platform calls whoever holds it the league.
A league contract is priced against the league, so it is not a number on a page. The per-coach prices below are the platform's real prices and always have been. A contract is priced against the size of the league and the seats it needs, and the figure you are given is the figure on the invoice.
What a contract includes
- A number of coach seats, allocated by you and movable between coaches mid-season
- The league's own rubric and scoring cues, authored once and used by every coach on it
- The age band set centrally, with what it allows enforced by the platform
- Participation numbers — minutes, rotation fairness, equal playing time — per squad
- A compliance view: who was granted what, which consents are signed, what is outstanding
- Invoices numbered and frozen when issued, paid by transfer or cheque
Seats beyond the number included are not blocked mid-season — they appear as a line on the next invoice.

Coaches, on their ownno contract needed
A coach can pay for themselves and start this evening. A league contract is not required to use SCAN, and a coach already paying keeps everything they have: if their league later signs, their seat moves onto that contract and they stop paying.
Coachmost coaches start here
or $36.33 a month between seasons
- 2 full match reads a week
- 43 technique clips a week, if you spend it that way
- Every scout, every rubric, every squad you coach
- Roster and schedule from a photo, attendance, minutes, team sheets
Coach Plus
or $63.33 a month between seasons
- 4 full match reads a week
- 64 technique clips a week, if you spend it that way
- Every scout, every rubric, every squad you coach
- Roster and schedule from a photo, attendance, minutes, team sheets
An allowance is a weekly budget, not a quota of reports — a match costs what it costs to read, and your billing page shows how much of the week is left as a percentage. The figures above are estimates from the platform's own cost model, at the Standard depth over a 70-minute match (about $2.98 a match, $0.19 a technique). A longer match, a closer depth or a retried batch costs more.
Ask for a coach seat You do not need a league. If yours signs later, your seat moves onto their contract.
Players and families
Every player account needs a parent or guardian account beside it. That account is free — it is the consent mechanism, the adult who agrees to what happens to their child's video, and a platform does not charge a family to be asked for permission.
Trial
- 2 scouted techniques, free
- 14 days to take them
- The Technique Scout. The rest opens with a parent account.
- No card, nothing to cancel
Player
or $18.93 a month between seasons
- 10 techniques scouted a week, on your own
- Your Learning Map, your ladder and your reports
- SCAN Combine sessions, once the waiver is signed
- Everything your coach publishes about you
A player never pays for what a coach scouts. Match reads, squad reads and anything else a coach runs come out of the coach's allowance or the league's contract — these plans are for what a player films themselves.

Questions people ask
Do I need a league to use SCAN?
No. A coach can buy their own seat and run a squad on it. If a league signs a contract later, the seat moves onto it and the coach stops being billed — nothing they have made is lost or moved.
Is a parent account really free?
Yes, and it is not a trial. A parent or guardian account is the consent mechanism: video and SCAN Combine stay locked for a child until a verified adult has signed the media consent and the waiver. Charging for that would be charging a family to be asked for permission.
What happens when the weekly allowance runs out?
The next read is refused, with the day it comes back. Nothing is charged automatically and nothing is silently downgraded. Top-up credit can be bought if a week is unusual; unused allowance does not roll over, but credit does.
Does a player pay for what the coach scouts?
No. Match reads, squad reads and anything else a coach runs come out of the coach's allowance or the league's contract. A player plan is for what a player films themselves.
Is a card taken anywhere?
No. There is no card form on this platform. League contracts are invoiced and paid by transfer or cheque, and SCAN records what arrives.
What if a read fails halfway through?
A run that files nothing costs nothing, and an interrupted match read can be resumed rather than started again. You are never billed for a batch that did not come back.
Before you decide
- Prices are per season. SCAN has two — Fall, 15 August to 20 November, and Spring, 2 February to 2 May. Between seasons nothing is taken away: accounts keep working month to month at a third of the season price, and can stop any month.
- No card is taken on this platform. League contracts are invoiced and paid by bank transfer or cheque; SCAN records what arrives.
- A parent or guardian account is free and always will be. It is the consent mechanism, and a platform does not charge a family to be asked for permission.
- A player can try SCAN before anyone pays: the free trial includes the Technique Scout and a fixed allowance of scouting, with no card and no expiry to catch out.
- A league contract includes a number of coach seats. A coach in a seat gets the contract's scouting allowance, and the league is billed — not the coach.
- Coaches can still buy their own seat. A league contract is not required to use SCAN, and a coach who is paying for themselves keeps everything they have.
- Extra seats beyond the ones your contract includes are not blocked mid-season. They appear as a line on the next invoice.
- Scouting allowances are a weekly budget of AI usage, shown as a percentage on your billing page. Unused allowance does not roll over; top-up credit does.
