Assumption of Risk and Liability Waiver
This waiver covers your player's participation in physical training and testing connected with the SCAN Central platform, including the SCAN Combine — a program of filmed physical tests and drills covering sprinting and speed work, agility, change of direction, running mechanics, strength exercises, and ball work — and training activities assigned through the platform.
1. Acknowledgment of risk
Soccer training and athletic testing are physical activities that carry inherent risks that cannot be eliminated even with proper supervision and technique, including muscle strains, sprains, bruises, broken bones, head injuries, heat-related illness, and, in rare cases, catastrophic injury. Sprinting at maximum effort, rapid changes of direction, and strength exercises each carry their own risks.
2. Player readiness
- You affirm your player is physically able to participate in soccer training and testing, and that you have had the opportunity to consult a physician about your player's fitness to participate.
- You will inform your player's coach of any medical condition, injury, or limitation that could affect safe participation.
- Drills should be performed with proper warm-up, appropriate footwear and surface, and adult supervision for younger players, as described on each drill card. You are responsible for supervision when your player trains outside club sessions (for example, filming drills at home).
3. Assumption of risk
Knowing these risks, you voluntarily allow your player to participate, and you assume, on your own behalf and on your player's behalf, all risks of injury arising from participation in SCAN Combine tests and platform training activities, whether at club facilities or elsewhere.
4. Release and waiver
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, you release, waive, and discharge SCAN, its officers, employees, contractors, and coaching staff from any and all claims arising out of or related to your player's participation in the activities described above, including claims based on ordinary negligence. This release does NOT extend to gross negligence, recklessness, or intentional misconduct, or to any liability that applicable law does not permit to be waived.
5. Medical authorization
If your player is injured during a club-supervised activity and you cannot be reached, you authorize club staff to obtain emergency medical treatment for your player, at your expense.
