Film what already happens — a technique in the garden, a session, a whole match. SCAN reads it against the same rubric every time and gives one specific thing to work on this week.
No card is taken. A parent or guardian account is free — it is how consent is given, and a platform does not charge a family to be asked for permission.
Start where you stand
Three steps, and you already do the first one
Nothing here asks anybody to buy a camera, wear a vest or stand in a particular place. A phone on a fence and a match that was going to happen anyway is the whole setup.
-
Film it
A technique takes thirty seconds. A match is the one you were already recording. The camera page locks focus and exposure so the second half looks like the first.
-
It gets read
The same rubric, every time, for every child — that is the point of a machine doing it. Technical, physical and tactical, each scored only where there was something to see.
-
One thing to fix
Not a report card. A specific thing, with a drill that trains it, and a way to film the same technique again in a fortnight and see whether it moved.
What the scout can and cannot see
This is the same note a coach reads inside the platform before their first match read. It is here because a tool that oversells what it measures is worse than no tool.
- The scout looks at still frames, not the whole recording. It sees a moment every few seconds and works from those.
- Possession, territory and the heat map are good that way — they are shares of time, and sampling measures shares of time well.
- Pass counts are a floor, not a count. Passes made entirely between two frames are never seen. The true number is higher.
- A player only gets credit where the scout could read the shirt number and the coach has mapped it, or where the coach says so. Everything else stays on the team's line.
- Every number a family sees has been published by a human coach first. A read that nobody reviewed is a draft, and drafts do not leave the coach's screen.
Where we stand, before you ask
It is the consent mechanism. Video and Combine features stay locked for a child until a verified parent or guardian has signed the media consent and the waiver — so charging for the account would be charging a family to be asked.
Nothing on this platform asks for card details. League contracts are invoiced and paid by transfer or cheque; SCAN records what arrives.
There is no advertising pixel, no session recorder and no analytics account watching a child use this. What is counted is counted here.
The platform never writes as a coach, a parent or a child. An automated message says it is automated, and an invitation asks a grown-up to act rather than acting for them.
Usage is measured in reads and allowances, never by looking at what is in a child's video or what their report says.
Every report can be printed or downloaded from the page it is on, and there is an erasure request in the account settings that a person answers.
What it costs
This league creates player accounts itself. Ask your coach or league admin.
A seat carries a weekly scouting allowance — about one full match read, or a squad's worth of technique clips. A coach on a league's contract pays nothing; the league is billed.
A contract is sized against the number of players and the seats it includes, so there is no number on a page that would be wrong for half the leagues reading it. Ask and a person answers.
What a report actually says
A sample, drawn here so nobody has to take a child's report on trust to see the shape of one. Real reports carry a child's name and are readable only by that child, their verified parent, and the coaching staff of their squad.
- Technical72
- Physical64
- TacticalNot scouted
Work on this fortnight: the first touch out of the feet on a pass received under pressure — it was taken across the body four times out of six.
A pillar nobody has scouted says so. It never reads as a zero, and a child is never shown a number that came from nothing.
Where do you fit?
A coach can start on their own seat. A league is priced against its size. A family account is free until a player is scouted. If none of those is you, ask anyway — there is no sales queue behind this, just a person.
